Over the past ten years, Draper Knitting Company has had the abilities to work and excel with recycled fibers which have helped bring them into the “green” movement we are seeing today. Foss Manufacturing is the leading supplier of PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) fiber and yarn and has a well established relationship with Draper Knitting as they are the only company as of current times to be using the Ecofi in a high pile sliver knit fabric. Draper Knitting also has connections with top quality suppliers of organic wool and cotton for use in fabrics.
Draper is going green by trying to use recycled products wherever possible in their manufacturing process. So far they have been able to convert almost all of their packaging to recycled PCR (Post Consumer Recycled-water/soda bottles) for their consumer product line. They are also in the process of finalizing recycled PCR poly-fill to be used as stuffing for the dog beds in their therapeutic line. All products are manufactured in the USA, which cuts down on fuel usage and pollution. Whenever possible the company tries to go as local, or as close to local as possible when purchasing raw materials and goods. In house we recycle all cardboard, paper, metal, glass and plastic. Many consumers will note that we reuse cardboard boxes when shipping directly to them. Recently Draper has setup with their local waste management company the ability for some of their trash to go directly to a burning facility that takes that energy and recycles it back into electricity.
