Albert P. Carey – Executive Chairman of Unifi Board of Directors

Mr. Carey began serving as a member of the Unifi Board of Directors in 2018. He was appointed Executive Chairman effective April 2019. He brings valuable managerial and operational expertise to the Board of Directors through his extensive experience leading multiple lines of business in consumer product companies.

Prior to working with Unifi Mr. Carey served as chief executive officer of PepsiCo North America, a role he held from March 2016 until his retirement from PepsiCo in March 2019. He is a multi-decade PepsiCo veteran with experience across snacks and beverages, and was responsible for leading North America Beverages, Frito-Lay North America and Quaker Foods North America. Prior to this role, he was chief executive officer of North America Beverages, where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of PepsiCo’s beverage business across North America. Mr. Carey joined PepsiCo in 1981 after working at The Procter & Gamble Company. Mr. Carey also serves on the board of directors of The Home Depot, Inc. and Omnichannel Corporation.

Jay Hertwig - Senior Vice President of Commercialization at Unifi Manufacturing, Inc.

Jay Hertwig is a graduate of the University of Georgia and holds a B.A. in Communication Studies. With more than 25 years’ experience in the global textile industry, he is an accomplished executive with a unique combination of product development, sales and marketing skills.

As Senior Vice President of Commercialization, Mr. Hertwig develops innovative new products, as well commercializes them through effective branding and marketing. He joined Unifi on 1993 and has previously served in several leadership roles at Unifi, including Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Vice President of Global Brand Sales and Marketing and Group Vice President of Brand Sales.

Mr. Hertwig is actively involved in bringing innovation to leading brands and retailers in the apparel, automotive, furnishings, footwear, medical and industrial markets. He works directly with many consumer known brands such as Adidas, Cintas, Ford, Haggar, HON, Levi/Dockers, Nike, Patagonia, The North Face, Under Armour and Walmart. He is responsible for developing sustainable, traceable textile solutions for the Americas, such as REPREVE®, Unifi’s recycled fiber brand.
